MRK Centrifuges Go Global at the Russia International Exhibition
In 2024, MRK Instruments (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. brought its full centrifuge range to an international exhibition in Russia. The stand did not show a single sample unit but a complete spectrum from 3,000 r/min benchtop low-speed models to 21,000 r/min floor-standing high-speed refrigerated units — making one point: domestic centrifuges can now be supplied as a system across speed, capacity and temperature control.
Which models were on display
Three main types were shown, represented by MH 2100R , a floor-standing high-speed refrigerated model with max. speed 21,000 r/min, max. RCF 51,430 ×g and 4 × 1000 ml capacity, for nucleic acid and protein extraction, virus enrichment and subcellular fractionation; and by MD 720R , an ultra-high capacity refrigerated model with 6 × 2400 ml and max. speed 8,000 r/min for batch separation of blood products and biologics; plus benchtop models such as the MD 550A and MG 20A for routine teaching and clinical separation.
These three types answer the three questions overseas customers ask most: can it spin fast enough, can it hold enough at once, and can it run continuously at low temperature.
What overseas customers check first
Compared with domestic buyers, overseas customers rarely start with price. They check four documents first: electrical safety certification (IEC 61010 compliance), English technical documentation supplied with the unit (manual, specification sheet, rotor configuration table), the spare-parts list and lead times, and how after-sales response works locally or in a neighbouring region. Miss any one and even excellent specifications will not get you into the quotation round.
Every MRK model uses a brushless inverter motor, with 20 rotor configurations — angle, swing-out, microplate, slide, decapping and capillary — compatible with capillary tubes, RIA tubes, vacuum blood collection tubes, 96-well plates and blood bags in PP / PC / PPCO. This kind of parts availability is what tells overseas customers whether the equipment can be used for years: a machine you cannot buy rotors for does only one job.
The real barrier to exporting
A centrifuge is the classic long-life, transparent-specification product. A demonstration on the stand proves it spins, not that it will still spin steadily in three years. What closes a deal is verifiable documentation, traceable batch consistency and predictable spare-parts supply.
That was the point of exhibiting: putting specifications, configurations and service arrangements on the table so international customers can compare on one standard. The company operates sales centers in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Changsha and Chengdu, and export customers draw technical documentation and spare-parts support through that network.
